Why Gmail Is The Devil…

Man, this gets my goat riled-up. It seems like every time I write you an email the email “marketing police” roll out in their Model T Fords, slap a magnetic siren on the roof, and chase me down.

Then I have to spend the next hour or two of my life behind bars correcting the “offensive emails” I wrote before they let me send you one piddly email — just one piddly email.

Here’s a screen capture than shows exactly what I’m talking about:

It’s quite clear that I am not sending you porn or anything illicit. I mean even elementary school teachers and nuns have been using the terms “anal” and “anal retentive” for the last hundred years. But unfortunately, due to despicable scum-sucking slime eating spammers and miscreants, I can’t even write you a simple email without censoring myself.

It’s Even Worse For People Who Use Gmail As Their Primary Email Address…

The icing on the cake of course is that the “spam checker” programs we use won’t catch the terms that Google Gmail blocks. Because Google won’t share any information about what “spam” is or is not. They simply filter out anything that their users designate as spam without any definition of what that really is.

This means that many of our subscribers have their subscriptions cancelled without their permission. They will never receive another copy of the Magnetic Sponsoring newsletter in their inbox. Period.

The thing is, it’s really easy to unsubscribe if you would rather not hear from us anymore. You know, there’s a huge link at the bottom of every email that says “If you would like to unsubscribe, please click here”.

Plus, we never send emails to anybody who hasn’t opted-in to our mailing list and we make it really easy to unsubscribe just to make sure. Most responsible online businesses do the same. So I have no idea why Google insists on “babysitting” everybody 24/7 and censoring what they read.

SHEESH! What is our sad sad sad world coming too?

The good news is that it’s really easy to protect your subscriptions from “Big Brother” if you know how. For example, when you find email in your Gmail “spam folder” that shouldn’t be there immediately click the “Not Spam” button to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

The next step is to add the email address that email was sent from to your contacts list to tell Gmail that you it is okay to receive email from that contact.

If the problem persists then a scathing email to the Google “censoring” committee about how they might as well start burning books, schools, and churches should get somebody’s attention.

If by chance you aren’t using Google Gmail as your primary email address then give yourself a pat on the back. With that said, if you’re still having trouble receiving emails I highly recommend that you “white-list” our email address letter@magneticsponsoring.com by following these instructions here…

I just wouldn’t count on “Big Brother” going out of their way to make changes…

It would probably be more effective if we just got out our pitchforks and torches and protested outside Google headquarters en masse…

—END OF GOOGLE GMAIL RANT—

What do you think? Am I totally off base here or is Google Gmail “broken” these days?

I use both Gmail, Yahoo, and Windows Live email addresses…

They all have their “Perks”: Gmail doesn’t let me get my email. Yahoo crashes every couple of months. And Windows Live is like a really bad nightmare that I can’t escape no matter how many times I click my ruby slippers…

    Couldn’t agree more Courtney. Ah, the beauty of email nowadays. ;-)

  2. Breann says:

    Hahahahahahahhaha! I needed a good laugh!

  3. hi mike, the truth is that since I have two accounts I’m still on your list a hotmail and a gmail to miss nothing of what you send me, but what I liked most of all is the good that you give the word anal
    a hug

  4. Hansjoerg says:

    Yep, you say it straight and i like your Opinion.

    I still use GMail as my primary Mailprogramm – BUT – using my very own mailadress with my own domain.
    just to have some “control” about my mails.

    to stop the insanity control freaks from the big companys and goverments it is time to make a huge shift to Opensource and get your systems doing what you like them to do!

    just stop hand over everything to “free” services and start control your digital live.

  5. I feel your pain!

    I have several email accounts and addresses with online email services. They all have major quirks and problems.

    I have been with Yahoo! the longest (since 1994) and lately they really are a pain! Even replying to an email will call out the ‘spam police’ and require Captchas and sometimes they just refuse to send it because of ‘spam’ content.

    If you try to send it from another email, the people you are trying to reply to will probably not even get it as they may not have this email in their white list.

    Even trying to use Yahoo! mail anymore is a pain as you don’t know what browser will work on which of their 3 different versions and how long it will work before it crashes or crashes your browser.

    Gmail is not much better. In some of my Gmail accounts I haven’t even used much get TONS of spam.

    The same problems with Hotmail.

    I am getting to the point that these accounts are just for newsletters and spam.

    It comes to the control thing again. Using other peoples online services you are at their mercy as to what they deem appropriate.

    Just like using any of the free websites; you have no control and they can shut you down for whatever reason when they change the rules.

    Stepping down off the soapbox now….

    @Breann

    It made me laugh too when I saw it pop-up. Funny the things that get blocked by spam filters. But this one was one of the weirdest.

  7. Courtney says:

    @Dustin

    That’s great! We love to hear that. Now, if only it was that way for every gmail user. ;-)

  8. Courtney says:

    @Hans

    Wow, I wish there was a reliable opensource email provider. It seems like everything these days is owned by Google. As much as I love them. They have a bad habit of making changes that affect home business owners.

  9. Courtney says:

    @Leonard

    That’s the thing! You’re at the mercy of the big guys when you do business online. It’s almost scary how quickly rules change. Then overnight thousands of small business owners online lose half or all of their revenue. The times they are a changing. The flexible will inherit the wealth.

  10. Rob says:

    Gmail’s policy is about much more than merely trying to stop spammers. It’s about their association with the globalists agenda to control and censor the Internet, and destroy personal sovereignty and liberty.

  11. You are correct Courtney.
    I have had 2 gmails shut down over the last 2 years…
    had 5 of them.
    I never spam and try hard to be professional.
    One was connected to my YT account which they also shut down
    to my surprise.
    What bothers me most with Google big brother is that
    they simply don’t respond to any emails or give reasons why they
    shut me down.
    So ya good rant brother..
    They piss me off a lot.

  12. Excellent article courtney!

    i have all ms emails coming into my personal
    email inbox so i’m alway’s reading it ;-)

    Shaqir

  13. Fernando says:

    Well I have a long list of reasons why I don’t like Gmail, despite of been loved by the most tech people. I will add this one to my list.

  14. Kurt says:

    Yeah, that has gotta suck, especially when you rely on email marketing as much as we do in internet network marketing.

    Good thing that the spam filters caught it.

    When I went back and checked my own spam filter, I noticed that quite a few of the recent Magnetic Sponsoring letters were ending up there…..

  15. ROGERIO MOREIRA says:

    …so, what are we going to do? My hotmail account has been shut down too…
    Take care and have a nice day
    Roger

  16. hi courtney my peeve with gmail is my password is always not working so i keep having to get new ones. BUT they never give you a reason for it.thanks for the input

  17. Keith says:

    Guess it’s a good thing gmail is not my primary email.

  18. Courtney says:

    Hey Kurt,

    Yeah, it’s crazy how aggressive those filters are these days.

    Happened to me too.

  19. Courtney says:

    @Lenore

    Recently had that problem with another service that does the exact same thing.

    I’ve had to contact support for my webhost four times to get my password changed again. Even though I had the right one.

    They never give a reason either. Weird.

  20. Courtney says:

    @Keith

    Totally. hah.

  21. Hansjoerg says:

    @Courtney

    there are plenty of opensource programs available. for everybody who are not familiar with opensource, you can find a ton of free software here:
    http://sourceforge.net/search/?q=webmail

    just search what ever you want.

    hint: check out ubuntu ;-)

  22. Courtney says:

    Sweet!

    This is exactly what I was looking for.

    Oh, sometimes I forget about the all powerful Google search…
