“Tom” says he’s tired of all the bull-shit lies from his upline and everyone else in this industry. Asks me what he should do first to really build a successful business. I pass on my best two pieces of advice…

Thanks for posting this video. I think that there are quite a few “Tom’s” out there in our industry who are just feed up & get emotional about their own failings without understanding how to change their mindset. Very helpful advice, I can’t wait to share this video with the other doubting Thomas’s I come across.
Did “Tom” pickup a copy of Magnetic Sponsoring yet? You never stop learning in this industry. He should also become a member of Better Networker as it’s a great environment for learning as well.
Great advice for “Tom” being someone that has come into this industry with a sales background you’re spot on Mike when you talk about the power of the skill of selling give you, putting you in a position of strength with whatever you do and of course taking complete and total responsibility for every single decison we make good and bad once I got this life has been so much more productive and liberating good luck Tom take the advice you won’t regret it.
As usual, you didn’t pull any punches with this letter. If there’s one thing I have learned from you it is that I am where I am solely due to the actions and decisions I have made or ignored.
Keeping it real as always. What impresses me is the way you do it with such finesses. “When you point a finger there’s always three pointing back-acha!”
Thanks, Mike! Interesting that “Marketing” and “Sales” are so often the missing elements, not just from MLM business, but from conventional business as well. Expertise with the Product or Service is great (and necessary) but it does not make you a business person. To succeed in business, one must not only work “in” the business, but also “on” the business. If I miss this distinction, I will join the more than 90% of businesses that fail within the first 2 years. (Remembering that “failure” is only an interpretation…we might as easily describe it as a “lesson”). Only if you miss the point, is the money wasted! Otherwise, you just paid for some valuable learning!
Thanks and Excellent Response…You’re material and leadership has been a huge eye opener for myself in this industry for developing my mind-set and leadership skills, attitude and taking responsibility, and really too many things to even list here… I had much of that “victim” mentality for quite a while as I’m sure that many others like “Tom” has felt and may be feeling right now, and as another great mentor in this industry that I’ve studied had put it… “You Can’t Complain about That Which You Permit” J.S.
Thanks again Mike for all of your training & continued leadership.
I have watched an enjoyed the 7 day free video series. I appreciate your straight forward honest approach to helping people like me to understand what it takes to be a successful marketer.
This video is especially important because few people today want to take responsibility for their action and choices. It is always easier and more convenient to blame someone else for personal failures. I hope all who watch this video will see the light if this truth and take responsibility for there decisions, learn from their mistakes, and get back in the game.
Mike i absolutley agree with the process of learning how to sell and how its “your” fault not your upline. Me personally i learned by failing over and over and over again. It was a nightmare. In my network marketing business i didn’t sponsor any cold leads for almost 2 years. The one thing that change my business around was when i adapted the Business owner mentality. Next was to learn how to sell. Long story short my struggles had led me to magnetic sponsoring. I clearly saw that it wasn’t my uplines fault, it was my lack of knowledge and failur is one way to learn. Process first than stability.
Once you take responsibility for your own actions you will see a difference in not only your business but in your everyday life as well.
But in Tom’s defense it depends on your upline. As an upline it is your responsibility to help your team succeed. If your team is willing to put in the effort and work at a common goal then you should go a little further and push them over the edge.On the flip side if they are slackers and expect you to build their business while they sit and watch well then you don’t really need them. Ther are a few uplines out there that are more concerned with getting their downline built and filling the funnel that they forget you are their downline and if you fail they fail. So after you take responsibility don’t be afraid to hold your upline accountable for their actions as well. After all its a network and like a chain its only as good as its weakest link.
Anyway great content straight forward and to the point
keep it coming.
Thanks for a great video. You couldn’t have said it better. It all start with us. We have to look in the mirror and just take action. Take everything you do in life and learn from, whether it be good or bad. It’s all about the learning curve.

You are awesome. Where do I get a copy of “Magnetic Sponsoring?”
Also, a little confused…..you have the book but is it an on-line marketing program I can join?
